Default Unable to run 32 bit NT7 on 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate

Hi,

When I try to run the 32 bit NT7 on 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate SP1, it just dies. I need to run the 32 bit because on the 64 bit I get a message that the TD Ameritrade historical data provider is not supported in 64 bit mode.

There is nothing in the trace logs (Documents\NinjaTrader 7\trace) and there is nothing in the Windows Event Viewer. All dependencies seem to be ok (using Depends). I hope someone can shed some light on this.

Thank you,

Ed

Hello Ed,

Thank you for your note.

When you launch the 32 bit version do you see the loading screen?
Do you see any error messages?

Please uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader with the steps I have provided below. With this procedure you will not lose any Workspaces, Charts, etc.
  • Close all running applications.
  • Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
  • From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
  • Then you will need to clear your internet browser cache and history. You will clear this from within your internet browser (with IE, Tools-->Options, delete cookies and files, clear history).
  • Reboot your machine.
  • Once these steps are completed, download NT 7.0.1000.7 from the link below:

That did not work. 64 bit is Ok. 32 bit - when I click, I get a wait cursor for a few seconds (as before), then - nothing.

Default TD Ameritrade not available in 64-bit version of NT7.

Hello:

I recently purchased a computer with Windows 7 64 bit. I successfully installed NT7 64-bit and restored all NT files. However, the login failed as shown in other parts of this thread, as TD Ameritrade requires the 32-bit version of NT. I have uninstalled NT7,etc and haven't found a way to select 32-bit for the installation. How can I do this? Thanks.

Hello,

When you install NinjaTrader you will get 2 icons on your desktop.

One that says NinjaTrader the other that says NinjaTrader 7(64 bit).

Use the NinjaTrader 7 icon for the 32 bit version.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Talking TD Ameritrade works with the right icon

Thanks Brett. I thought the non 64-bit icon was an old version I created while trying a work around. I have had that problem before.

Any ideas when TD Ameritrade will upgrade???

Many thanks again.
