Hi all, can anyone suggest a tick data feed for ASX stocks that will interface with NT and also anyone who provides ASX stocks tick history files. Thanks :-)

Hello HelenL,
Thanks for your post. I'd recommend contacting BarChart or eSignal on this. As I recall, they would both offer the data you're looking for here.

Thanks Kyle, we'll investigate Interactive Brokers as well and let everyone know how we go with the integration. Also, Weblink have ASX stocks historical tick data at a reasonable price - 1yr $365, 2yrs $485. I'm not clear yet what the format needs to be for integration of historical data into NT or how to do this yet? I'm happy to read the manual, but pointers would be great too :-)

One more question Kyle - if I have imported a test file into NT, does this need to be cleaned out prior to importing the entire data history? My understanding is that NT converts tick data to one minute data and I am concerned about how NT will handle two identical tick data points when it rolls them up to the 1 minute data points. Thanks.

Hi HelenL,
No - no need to clear out data before importing. Any data in the data set which you're importing would overwrite what is already in place within NinjaTrader. The option is available to create minute bars from the tick data, but if you prefer to keep the two separate you may un-check the 'create minute bars from tick data' box when importing your data.
