Daily Charts and Session Manager
Hello, I am trying to get my charts to display NY close market for the forex, I figured the session manager is the best way to do this, however none of my charts aren't reflecting the ones im trying to match (axitrader charts) i am mostly aiming for 1h 4h 1d 1w chartsTags: None

Hello Columbcille,
Session templates do not affect daily and weekly charts (weekly charts are build by daily data). Daily data is loaded as per the OHLC values from the connected data feed.
You can use a 1440 minute chart as a workaround for a daily chart. Subsequently create a custom session template - each rows needs to capture 24 hours (1440 minutes). Use start and end times that will match the axitrader charts. More information to create custom session templates can be found at the link below.

well i may have figured out the problem, Axitrader does a 5 day new york close chart, when i try to plug in friday 1700 - monday 1700 the client doesnt recognize it as a valid session, Here are some pictures from my axitrader charts showing 11/1 one bar then over to 11/4 how can i replicate this?

mon 1700-tue 1700
tues 1700-wed 1700
wed 1700-thurs 1700
thurs 1700-fri 1700
fri 1700-mon 1700 (this one wont be accepted, says that the end needs to be greater than the start)

Hello Columbcille,
I was incorrect about only being able to create a session for one day. The issue is that there is a limitation where Friday is considered later that Monday and you cannot create a session that starts before Sunday to a day after Sunday.
So this would still not be possible with NinjaTrader 7.
I am submitting a feature request to have this added to the next major release of NinjaTrader in your behalf.Last edited by NinjaTrader_ChelseaB; 11-06-2013, 03:36 PM.Chelsea B.NinjaTrader Customer Service

Hi Kotyk,
That is correct. With CalculateOnBarClose set to True and ExitOnClose set to True that code on a 1440 minute chart would never enter an order.
CalculateOnBarClose would cause the order to only enter on the next bar which would mean the next session. The ExitOnClose would cancel the order before the next session and the order would never enter.Chelsea B.NinjaTrader Customer Service
