Symbol Manager Listen to an audio presentation here.
The symbol manager provides an interface to add, update and manage symbols used for trading within NT.
Instrument Info Symbol - The IB trading symbol Security Type - The IB security type Exchange - The order destination Expiry - Symbol expiration dates. Not applicable for equities
Parameters Target - Offset value used to calculate the PROFIT order sent for Bracket and AutoScale exit types. Stop - Offset value used to calculate the STOP LOSS order sent for all Exit Types. Contracts - Default number of contracts or shares. Increment - Specifies the tick size or a user defined increment for equities. For equities, this value is used to set increment levels for all parameter entry boxes within NT, and more importantly, its also used to determine round the average fill price to a valid IB value. Because of this, DO NOT use the increments 0.25, 0.50 or 1 for equities. Pt Value - Fiscal value for 1 point (NQ would be $20)
Offsets Limit - Offset value used for LIMIT orders used when the CLOSE button is pressed, and, for STOP LIMIT orders for all exit types. BreakEven - Offset value used when the "breakeven" button is pressed. The current STOP LOSS will be adjusted to breakeven + this offset value BreakEven Plus - Offset value used when "breakeven trigger" is activated. Once the breakeven trigger is hit, the current STOP LOSS will be adjusted to breakeven plus this offset value. Simulated Triggers There are Ratio and Size trigger parameters for Entries and Exits. See the Simulated Entries and Stops section details regarding this topic. SIMSTP - Offset value used when simulated stop option is turned on. NinjaTrader will use this value to send a STOP order thats outside the market. IMPORTANT: USE A LIBERAL VALUE. A VALUE OF 5 PTS FOR THE ES IS REASONABLE. ANYTHING LESS PUTS YOU AT RISK OF A REVERSED POSITION WHEN YOUR ORDER IS CLOSED DUE TO THE POTENTIAL OF BOTH TARGET AND STOP ORDERS BEING FILLED. |

| Size Trigger - Value used to determined when to trigger a simulated stop order. Ratio Trigger - Value used to determine when to trigger a simulated stop order. The value represents the buying or selling pressure between the BID and ASK. Example. If the BID SIZE is 500 and the ASK SIZE is 1000, the ratio is 0.5 if you are long, the ratio is 2 if you are short. So if you are long, and you specify a value of 1, your stop will not be triggered until the BID SIZE is less than or equal to the ASK SIZE. See section on simulated stops for more information. |
