FXCM is exiting the US market and will sell its US-based forex accounts to GAIN Capital’s retail trading service, FOREX.com. The transfer of US-based accounts is scheduled to occur on February 24, 2017, after 5 PM ET. Clients based outside of the US will not be affected.
The FAQ below addresses some initial questions for NinjaTrader FXCM forex traders and we will continue to provide more updates as they become available.
What impact does the FXCM announcement have on my forex brokerage account with NinjaTrader?
For traders based outside of the United States: There will be no change to your account.
For traders based in the United States: Your FXCM account will be transferred to GAIN Capital’s retail trading service, FOREX.com. The transfer of US-based accounts is scheduled to occur on February 24, 2017, after 5 PM ET. There is no action required from you for your account(s) to transfer.
To continue trading your account using NinjaTrader following the transfer, simply email [email protected] and request an update to your NinjaTrader license key to access GAIN Capital/FOREX.com Your license key will be enabled free of charge.
You will receive a reply to your request by this weekend with your updated license information and next steps.
Following the transfer, will my NinjaTrader license work with GAIN Capital/FOREX.com?
To continue trading your account using NinjaTrader following the transfer, simply email [email protected] and request an update to your NinjaTrader license key to access GAIN Capital/FOREX.com. Your license key will be enabled free of charge and you will receive a reply to your request by this weekend with your updated license information.
NinjaTrader 7 currently integrates with the GAIN Capital API. In addition, NinjaTrader 8 for GAIN Capital/FOREX.com will be coming soon!
As a US-based FXCM account holder, what information will be transferred to GAIN Capital/FOREX.com?
FXCM has worked closely with GAIN Capital/FOREX.com to ensure the seamless transfer of your account. The following information will be included in the transfer:
After the transfer takes place, GAIN Capital/FOREX.com will be the counterparty to your positions and responsible for providing ongoing services to you, which means FXCM will no longer be the counterparty to your positions and will not service your account thereafter.
How will I access my account with GAIN Capital/FOREX.com & what is the impact on my pricing?
GAIN Capital/FOREX.com will send a separate communication to clients to aid in your transition and include access information.
What are my options if I do not want to transfer to GAIN Capital/FOREX.com?
You can request a withdrawal of the full balance of your FXCM account by Monday, February 20, 2017 at 23:59 ET. Withdrawals that are in process, but not completed, by Monday, February 20, 2017 at 23:59 ET, will be honored. However, any withdrawal requests received after that date will be rejected and your account(s) will be transferred to GAIN Capital/FOREX.com on the transfer Date.
If you are based outside of the United States, there is no change and your new account process will proceed as expected.
