    Sluggish Cross Hair Cursor NT 7.23

    Updated to NT 7.23 yesterday, still having issue ( as with previous version of NT ) with the cross hairs being sluggish. As I move the cursor on any chart the vertical and horizontal cross hair movement lags behind the cursor movement and have a jerky snap movement. Sometimes the lag is 1 second or even more. I move the cursor then after a time the cross hairs jerk into position.

    What video card do you have in the computer?

    Also, did you do an upgrade or a complete uninstall and reinstall of NinjaTrader?

    How much ram is in the computer?

    Is this an issue you have reported in the past? If so where is the link or ticket number for it please.

      What video card do you have in the computer?

      Dual (2) NVIDIA Quadro NVS 290 ....the current reported issue is recent so vid cards were not the issue

      Also, did you do an upgrade or a complete uninstall and reinstall of NinjaTrader?

      Windows XP 3gb ram

                Hello,

                Ok, with all the information you have given me and the fact that I have no other reports of this from any other users, also that this is something that has been occurring on and off for a year. This has to be something related to yor video card or video card drivers at this time as I'm unable to duplcate this on my side as well, nore have ai ever seen this occur. I would try updating your video drivers as a first step.

                  I'll have to respectfully disagree Brett because I run Market Delta software as well as a couple others and have no sluggish issue with the cross hair cursors with those programs even while running NT 7. NT is the only software displaying this issue. The sluggish issue has not been at all times only lately has it been all the time since upgrading to 7.23

                      Hello,

                      Also, this Market profile chart, can you please un-install it. This 3rd party programming that displays highly specialized chart type in the chart could be causing this issue also. The next step would be removing all 3rd party indicators and then restarting NinjaTrader and check to see if the problem persists. As this could most definitely do it and would be consistent with this occurring quite often on multiple beta releases.

                        Hi Brett,

                        Actually the Market Profile chart is the Market Delta software, not a Market Profile add on to NT7. Yes, I'll try it on a different pc....can you tell me how I transfer my work spaces to the new computer...is there a particular file/folder I copy? After I load NT7 on a different computer I'll remove all the 3'rd party indicators (2) and see if there is any change. Thanks for your time.

                          Hello,

                          Heres how I would test.

                          Load NT7 fresh with no indicators transferred and test to see if the issue occurs. If it does not then I would transfer everything over.

                          I would recommend to use the backup and restore features in NinjaTrader to achieve this. On your original machine launch NinjaTrader and goto File->Utilities->Backup. Check all the options you would like to transfer, this will create one file with all your settings. Then transfer this file to the other PC and launch NinjaTrader and goto File->Utilities->Restore.
