Nt8 - starting strategies is very ardous task

Nt8 - starting strategies is very ardous task still from NT7 design...

In NT7 it took hours to start sometime and then data issues stopped it.... so you had to restart and go again... as some of us had 100s of test running with lots of data and that was time to give in with NT7 testing lots of starts.. until we wrote in autostarting strategies and things etc

We need a start all and stop all

also we need an autostart on NT8 start up features
with some options to map to orders/positions or wait till closed to continue trading...

    a state machine enum perhaps?

Sounds convenient, but what is the problem being resolved? In NT7, one could start any number of strategies simultaneously anyway, from the interface in your picture.

NT8 loads far quikcer than NT7 - its turbo charged in caomparision - so maybe the word Ardous was OTT... and unfair... lets say its slow and a waste of time to start strategies one by one...

You cannot start tham all with a start all - you have to click each one...
thats basic UI desgin - on top of that you could then have a select all / deselect all feature on a grid with a checkbox...

Historically.. if you had say 100 strategies with 90 days to 180 days lookback

in our Woodies AT group we provided templates/model variants to allow the study of styles and features for around 100 models... and we did used to run them on a VPS but the overhead of time meant it was impossible to maintain this . .what we would have had was a realtime distributed network of stats and settings - pumping into a database for the group users... but it was not viable due to technical limitations in NT7

The main reason was you clicked one and had to wait for it to start... quite literally it could take 30 minutes to 1 hour to go through the whole list. So certain trading groups working together for realtime stats had to abandon this due to the time wasted and sometime error prone loading - causing a a restart and more time -over a month maybe 1 day each week starting - and correcting maybe 8 hours... was lost.... * 20 traders = a total loss of say 160 hours.... in just one group.... that's a lot of dead time and would be 100000s+ of hours over the NT community per year.... potentially....

What is required is a start all/ stop all
+ Bonus an autostart feature property....checkbox

its true my software strategies already does offer autostart - so i dont need it for my products...so much

but in i am just saying for the normal user this is a real time saving feature. and extremely easy and an extremely common feature to add in a table with a checkbox....

Low impact easy to code and test is to use a context popup menu...item

Are you saying something like this:
Free online storage and sharing with Screencast.com. 2 GB of storage and 2 GB of bandwidth per month for free. We won't compress, alter or take ownership of your content.

        1. Highlight all (select first, SHIFT+select last)
        2. Right click -> Enable (Disable for stopping)

In NT8 the behavioiur is the same.

Still, checkbox in the column name (Enabled []) to also do the same would be a nice touch.

I would also suggest the SHIFT or CTRL + click multi select mechanism. Once you have those highlighted you can either simply select "enable" or you can right click and select enable/disable/remove.

You can also hit CTRL + A in the strategies grid which will select all rows.
