chart trader - control order types assigned to mouse clicks

I am a futures trader scalper. Things are fast to say the least.

I have done this 100's of times, I think I am placing a sell order but instead I end up placing a buy order and visa versa.

if you initiate a trade on the chart using the right mouse and when you do this the mouse location is above the market price, sell is typically the top trade option of the 3 that display.

this can get messy if the market is fast and it is relatively easy to think you are doing one but you are actually doing the other.

This requires I think about one more thing before I pull the trigger, did I initiate the action when I was above or below the market.

I personally would like a consistent menu, one that does not change.

Perhaps this could be a chart control (chart trading ) setting

Thanks for sharing. I can see your point but we don't want to make usability changes to a feature people have been using for years to success. Introducing an option is something we can consider, but generally the more settings we provide, the more cumbersome the system is to set up and leads to confusion. What you're discussing is the NinjaTrader way chart trader works and we're happy with how it functions.

Have you looked into setting up hotkeys for custom order actions? You can place orders X number of ticks from the bid/ask and this was true in NinjaTrader 7 too.

hi i looked at control centre/tools/hot key manager
selected order entry on the left panel buy ask buy bid etc
where is the x number of ticks from bid/ask bit to which you refer

If you scroll further down the list of Order entry hot key options, there is a section at the bottom where you may create Custom order hotkeys. Here is a screenshot of the section I am referring to:

This feature is not implemented in NinjaTrader 7 but will be available in NinjaTrader 8.

I'm sorry, I'm new to this (or any forum), but I believe you can create custom order Hot Keys in NinjaTrader 7 by right clicking in an open area of the Hot Key Manager and selecting Add Custom Order on the drop down menu. I will attempt to include or attach a screenshot.

This is correct. Ensure you have "Order Entry" selected and then this right-click option will be available.
