    Tick Replay Mode Issue

    I found a strange issue with the Tick Replay Mode with Real-time charting.

    It seems like all instruments I tried (ES, CL, 6E, ZB) there is a distinct break in the chart time data at 8PM. With Tick Replay Mode unselected, all the data from 8PM on is visible and charted. If you then go in and enable Tick Replay Mode on the data series, the data after 8PM will disappear.

    It only seems to happen real-time on the current evening session as when I noticed something strange yesterday but didn't get to diagnose the issues (discontinuity at 8PM) is no longer there when I scroll back 24 hours. I have attached some charts to show this. I have enclosed 2 CL charts one with and one without Tick Replay mode so you can see the gap in time that appears. I haven't figure out when it goes away, but up to about 10PM this happens at a minimum and after the session is over it is gone.

    I tried adding a screenshot of the Data Series box setting but it showed the contents under the box not the actual box, this happens often with some charts as well. (You can even see the board of the charts becoming transparent on the screen capture...)

          Who do you connect to for data?
          Does this only occur on the 27th of May or all dates?

            This happens every evening after 8PM EST -> 11:30PM ish (latests I have been up).

            The gap only happens if you start up a chart after 8PM EST (10PM for example). I use a 1 range bar type, I think I have tried others and they show the same GAP.

            My system is set to EST, not sure if this a a unique problem based upon time zone. So you might need a system set to EST and check it around 10PM EST for the gap. You need "Tick Replay" set if I recall as well.

            I will try to get a good setup for you tonight and confirm it is still happening. I will see if I can find one of those recording systems as well, but the other odd thing is Screen Capture doesn't seem to work well at night!?!? Purely subjective statement but I treid to capture an image of NT8 last night, and the windows were not visable, but when I did it this morning, it worked fine! Don't know if this is my issue on NT8 issue...

                  It will run real-time with no problem, but refresh after an hour or two and the gaps form after 8PM EST. Seems like the Historical data doesn't want to fill back in after 8PM. I don't know when it starts again.

                    Here is a good view of how this bug manifests itself.

                    I have the "Tick Replay" on the top chart and unselected on the bottom chart.

                    You can see the Gap after 8PM EST on the Tick Replay, this formed because I open this chart around 8:35PM EST, the data between 8PM and "Live" is missing.

                      Here is another example. I simply changed the instrument to the CL 07-15. Top Tick Replay, bottom this option is deselected.

                              Issue still in BETA3

                              Beta3: Issue Still present

                              I have an idea what might be causing this issue. It seems like when I refresh there is a bars request that goes out:


                              2015-07-14 20:11:32:588 Cbi.Instrument.RequestBars (to Provider): instrument='6E 09-15' from='07/14/2015 19:00:00' to='07/14/2015 23:59:59' period='1 Tick'
                              I am in EST and I think I cam -4 hours from GMT. If the time above is interpreted as GMT by the system, then this explains why at exactly 8PM EST I cannot refresh historical data. It is simply because NT didn't request data base 8PM EST (23:59:59 GMT). it also explains why the next day, the problems seems to fix itself!
