    NT8 Beta 2 : Cannot add new instrument

    Support,
    I converted my existing NT7 to NT8 with no errors.
    Trying to add a new instrument but after double clicking on the desired futures instrument and clicking OK nothing happens ( I clicked apply and then OK as well; still nothing happens).
    I am unable to select the expiry month for the Futures instrument I am selecting.
    It does not matter which new instrument I try I can not add any new instruments.
    When I try to create a new chart the 6C instrument is not available either..

    Tried looking through the help.... and I am pointed to the NT7 documentation.
    Kindly review the attached screenshots.
    I am running on windows 7 .

      I have added the new instrument by using the Instrument List form.
      Sorry for the trouble.

        What is your username on the PC exactly? What is your path to My Documents.

        c:\Users\XXXXX\Documents

            Ok its the ' in Steve's PC thats causing the problem.

            Do you have NT7 installed on the same PC. I would expect that it would be having the same problem.

            To fix please go to start > control panel > users > and change the name of your user to just Steve for example to remove the ' out of the path. That will resolve the issue to get you started.

              No, NT7 has always worked fine for me on this PC.

                My apologies. I provided Brett incomplete information on that case. There in fact is a chance that NT7 and NT8 could behave differently in your case where you have a single quote in the path name.

                This will be fixed with next Beta. #8344

                  I've changed this and taken out the apostroph. It still seems to be referencing the old name though. NT7 works fine with this and in fact Windows allows this is the PC setup. Perhaps NT8 can be changed to allow it as well?

                        If you want to get running with NT8 before beta 3 comes out please email into platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com so that I can have one of our support guys help you with the directory rename of your my documents folder. Since I understand that was giving you problems.
