    Orders stuck in NinjaTrader

    Hi,
I have 5 orders stuck in the NinjaTrader Orders tab. I contacted my broker and there are no pending orders in my account.

I tried to cancel each order individually and also tried to cancel all orders. I tried also clicking "Flatten Everything". I see in the log that the cancel commands are submitted, but the orders still pending on the Orders tab.

Please let me know how I can remove these pending orders from NinjaTrader.

    Thank you.

Try restarting the platform and reconnecting. This should get the most up to date order information.

Yes, what Calino suggested should do the trick for you.

        Hi,
Yes, I tried reconnecting and also closing NinjaTrader completely. Finally, I restarted my computer, but the orders are still there. It shows Order Status: unknown.
        Thank you.

That certainly does sound odd. There may be something going wrong with your database. As a first step to troubleshoot this, please try to repair your database (Tools > Options > Data Tab > "Repair DB"), then restart NinjaTrader and see if the orders still show incorrectly.

If they still show incorrectly, please follow the instructions below to reset the NinjaTrader database.
          • Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
          • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
          • Select the "Data" tab
          • Press the "Reset DB" button
          • Press the "OK" button

The following data will be removed:
          • Historical orders
          • Historical executions
          • Historical ATM strategy data
          • Saved Strategy Analyzer backtest results

The following data will be maintained:
          • ATM strategy templates
          • Historical chart data

After this, restart once more and see if the issue persists.

If that does not work, you might need to completely reinstall NinjaTrader, as there may be an issue with your current installation.

Please follow the steps listed below to completely uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader:
          • Close all running applications.
          • Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.
          • From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
          • Reboot your machine.

Once these steps are completed, download NT7 from the link below:
          Download

If you still see the same issue, please let me know.

Resetting the database removed the pending orders.

What connection technology where you using?

Where these orders on the Sim101 account or Live account? I suspect your live account which is why you contacted your broker?

I'd like to try to get more information on what state the orders were stuck in if you can remember, have screenshot, or run into the issue again so that I could formulate a bug report/understand the scenario better with development.

                HI Brett,

The orders were on my live account (AMP through CQG). I was trading around 20 contracts. I had OCO orders with Limit and Stop orders. The limit price hit, but not all contracts were sold. Only about 10 contracts were executed and 10 contracts were still pending.

In NinjaTrader I clicked "Flatten Everything" and all contracts were sold (the remaining 10), but 5 orders were stuck on the order tab. I checked with my broker and my account was flat with no working orders.

The status for these orders showed "unknown". I don't have a screen shoot. After I reset the database, all the orders were cleared.

                Thank you.

Ok thanks for that info. Since this was live trading I for sure wanted to get logs and traces and look into what occured.

Please go to Control Center > Help > Mail To Support and check mark to send log and traces files and sent it to ATTN: Brett in the subject line referencing this forum post so I could look into the logs and traces files and get something changed with development if needed.

                  Thank You.
