NinjaTrader Export Claims I'm missing an Assembly Reference

Hi

I have some NinjaTrader indicators that call external DLLs.

These indicators compile and run with no issues.

When I try to do an export, it claims I am missing an assembly reference.

Here's how I export (Just like NT7.0)



Note that I am not using the protection. I have my own.

When I do the export it generates log messages.....

2015-06-22 10:33:18:376|2|4|Error compiling export assembly: g:\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Indicators\JT_v5_DepthSales_Live.cs(4 8,7) : error CS0246: The type or namespace name 'JigsawTrading' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?)

As you can see - I have the relevant references defined and my software compiles & runs fine. It's only the import complaining.



I did take a look at the "References" section of the export (although I can't find details in the manuals on it, I thought it might be related) but it comes up empty:



Any thoughts?

Is this your own custom protection or a third party's?

I use a 3rd party - but that's not the issue here because this is all failing before I even get to the point that I to protect my code.

So my steps are 1 - export from Ninja to DLL, 2 - protect code

Step 1 is failing

All I am trying to do here is an export to a dll without protection. So pretty standard stuff and in line with what I do with Ninja 7.

I'd like to get my software released to some of your other beta testers but this one is a show-stopper for me.

Thanks for your reply.

At this time no further action is needed on your end. Additional testing is being done on a system with a secondary drive where we can relocate the NinjaTrader folder to see that we can replicate this. We will update you as more information is available.

I don't think that's going to help.

In this case, the referenced dlls are in the "My Documents" folder on my PC along with all the other NinjaTrader 8 folders

I just keep my My Documents folder on a separate drive.



I have tested this on another machine, with the My Documents folder on the C:\ drive & it does exactly the same thing.

Where are "IIJTWindowControl" and "JigsawTrading" being defined? Are they defined in the files you are attempting to export?

Hello Pete,

Thank you for providing the steps you took to produce this error.

I created a dummy assembly and used the steps you had to reproduce the error message upon export. I have submitted this item to development for review.

I did not test this on an external drive but based on the fact that you have NT installed on that drive this should be basically the same test I was just using C:\ instead of your G:\.

I look forward to being of further assistance.

lol Ron - I am guessing you don't even know how famous you are in the world of platforms & brokerages.

Anyway - they have found it now - which is 90% of the battle.

I just got beta 3 & have managed to do the export as well as push it through my encryption software, create an installer and install it on a fresh machine with NT8 beta 3.
