Ruler not good for fast measure

Why Ruler have other 3 point for Text ?

I not create Sales Presentation, but need fast measure current price !

Please create 2 point Ruler or option in him for fast 2 point.

Thanks for your post and suggestion.

Just to check, if you left click at the beginning point and then double-left click at the end point does that resolve the issue? There is no requirement to relocate the 3rd point if you would rather not. (See chart)

We used the 3 point click in Ninjatrader 7 and have continued the use in NinjaTrader 8 because of the ability to locate the text away from the price action yet be able to relate the information by the 2nd line.

Update about Ruler

As it should be for fast measure price

1. I one click on first point and move mouse to other point on price, and visual see how change and wich % or price diff in text box. *I visual view level's and where they

2. I right click and cancel drawing

3. and measure other price move ( goto p.1)

Now text box I see, after double or one click on second point, this slow and not practical

As trader's fundamental work with price, you need to modify Ruler, that Textbox display on current mouse move, but not after double-click !

Ps. I many time measure price move and pattern's please consider this before release

I agree that the Ruler seems incomplete.

Ideally start the ruler at P! and then drag ruler to P2 The data in the box should appear immediately and dynamically update as P2 is adjusted. when the ruler is complete the user clicks the mouse. The data box stays in place at end the line. If this ruler is selected in the future and P2 is moved the data box should update accordingly.

In addition it would be useful if the ruler could measure multiple segments in one application.

For example click on stop loss (P1) extend to entry price (P2) extend to target (P3)

display P1 to P2 value and P2 to P3 value a nice addition would be ratio measurement between the two lengths ( Risk/ Reward) in this case

In order to have the values dynamically update it appears I need to drag P1 (the start of the line) and not P2 the end of line. If I drag P2 the whole line moves.

Am I missing something?

Something that works rather like Google Maps Measure Distance (Right-click on any map and try it) would be great.

James108 - After you have set the 3rd point (text box) you should be able to move either the first or second point and the text box will dynamically update as you drag the point about. It could be that your second point was close to your 3rd point or that you clicked on the line between the points which would move both lines and text box.

I have definitely explored the R/R tool and like it. I have made a feature request for some additons to that tool
