Can I use 3rd party controls

    Hi,
Is there any way I can use 3rd party controls (Telerik UI for WPF, for example) in creating an indicator?
    Thanks ... Ed

    Hello edstaffin,

Thank you for writing in. With NinjaTrader 8 we have created a true trading application development platform allowing developers to build incredibly rich and integrated applications. In NinjaTrader 8 you will be able to use a wide variety of external libraries. NinjaTrader 8 is currently still in beta testing. If you wish to be considered for the beta, please let me know.

This may be possible in NinjaTrader 7 however this would be beyond the scope of what we are able to support. Using WinForms to develop what you need in NinjaTrader 7 may give you less issues overall.

    Thank you in advance.

Curious...what do they offer for their controls that you could use for an Indicator?

          Hello,

Thank you for catching that eDanny.

NinjaTrader 7 does NOT use WPF, it uses WinForms.

WPF is only supported in NinjaTrader 8.

          My apologies for the confusion.

Not sure how to respond. All I can say is they have GREAT UI tools. Depending on what you are trying to develop, your UI can be made much slicker. Check out their site. BTW, I am not getting paid for this endorsement!!! :-)

This is definitely possible. You can even integrate your custom UI controls into NT's property grid, however this is attended with some difficulties.

The use of WPF with NT7 is also possible owing to WindowsFormsIntegration.dll and System.Windows.Forms.Integration.ElementHost.
