Using a ":" in Groupname causes an alert (Bug)
In the Properties in the Group Name using a ":" to separate a name, causes a alert to come up when an indicator is selected from the list, and prevents the indicators from being active in the dialogue to change any of that information. This is standard english and I feel an oversight to have this character removed from use.

By "underlying component," are you referring to a constraint imposed by Microsoft?
Whatever the case, not being able to use standard English textual conventions in a text field whose sole purpose is for consumption by the general public is a major problem.

Sorry for the confusion - we have not yet closed out of this item and still looking into.
The information passed was it's a limitation of a MS method but we're seeing what the alternatives are (although I cannot gurantee this is something we can support, but I do see your point)MatthewNinjaTrader Product Management

Thanks for the update.
Would it make sense to present the issue to Microsoft?
And would one possible work-around be to use escape characters?
