NT8 ChartTrader NEEDED Update

Hi,

My trading style is scalping the CL and requires the bar to close. I have a stop in but sometimes the bar grows bigger than expected and I need to switch to limit in order to not bypass my stop loss tick amount. By the time I've done this I've missed the trade. Shouldn't the chart trader be smart enough to convert the order type depending on if it's above or under the current price. I heard mutlicharts has it like that?

TL;DR : Chart trader should be smart enough to automatically convert LIMIT->STOP (and vice versa) depending on where you place the trade.

Unfortunately this capability is not a feature in NinjaTrader.
I have submitted a feature request to our development team for consideration for this to be implemented into future versions of NinjaTrader.

Our development team has gotten back to me on the is request and has informed me him that this request is on our radar, but may not be implicated as this could be a liability issue as we would not be able to decide what order types can get placed for a user due to the strict regulatory environment in which we operate.

Thanks for getting back to me Cody. I understand what you are saying but lets think of a work around. How about a keyboard entry? Right clicking and adding. Maybe a like ALT-L (for limit) and ALT-S (for stop) and it places order at market price (+/-) the variable the user sets it to. E.g. 10 ticks from market price it plugs order and I can quickly move the order with my mouse.

That's just a thought maybe it could be further looked at
