    BUG (Exception): Pivots Indicator

    In B4, an unhandled exception occurs when attempting to add the Pivots indicator to a chart. It states "There is an error in XML document (0,0)".

    Thanks for your post and observations.

    Does this error consistently appear?

    What are the steps you took that generated the error? (What are the instrument/timeframe and indicators settings) So that i might replicate the error here.

      Happens for me every time:

      1) Bring up the indicator dialog.
      2) Select the Pivots indicator.
      3) Hit the "add" button.
      4) Exception appears.

      It also happens if you try to install a chart template which has the Pivots indicator on it. That's actually how I first encountered it.

      Instrument: ES 12-15
      Bars: 3-min OHLC.

        Thanks for your reply.

        I have been unable to replicate the issue here either applying the pivots directly or via a chart template.

        I would like to ask if you would:
        1) Go to documents>Ninjatrader8>Templates>chart - Please remove the template files that contain the pivots (just move to desktop will be fine, you can replace them later)
        2) Create a new chart without template
        3) Apply pivots indicators

        Does the error persist?

          The problem persists.

          First, I removed all the chart templates from <NT8Folder>\templates\Chart.

          Then I tried installing Pivots on the same tab of the same chart window -- Unhandled Exception.

          Then I tried installing Pivots on a new tab of the same chart window (no template) -- Unhandled Exception.

          Then I tried installing Pivots in a new chart window (no template) -- Unhandled Exception.

          I've attached a screen shot.

            Please send your log and trace files for the day that your tried this. Specifically the files:

            Documents>Ninjatrader8>log>log.20150916.00000.txt

            Documents>Ninjatrader8>trace>trace.20150916.00000. txt

                    Hello strategesis,

                    Thanks for sending your chart template file. It did not contain the pivots indicator, do you have one that does?

                    I did load the chart template into NT8B5 and was able to add the pivots indicator to it.

                    If you have not already done so, please update to NT8B5 and advise if the issue persists.

                      Probably as a consequence of the unhandled exception, the Pivots indicator is removed from any template automatically.

                      And the unhandled exception still occurs in B5.

                      Unfortunately, the exception makes it impossible to add the Pivots indicator to a chart, and so also makes it impossible to save a template which includes the Pivots indicator.

                        I finally solved the issue by doing a completely clean install of NT8 B5.

                        That also solved a problem i had been having with market replay -- which now works, but wasn't working at all before.
