pnl currency

Hello,

is it possible to have the pnl of a position or strategy also in another currency than $?

I would prefer the Eur? I can see that you do a currency conversion already for EUR positions, which is an improvement I appreciate a lot.

But how to display PNL in EUR?

Hello zweistein,

To set the currency of the instrument, change the currency that is set in the instrument
settings.
Tools > Instruments > Search for the instrument you want > click on the instrument in the search results > click Edit > in the Currency Drop Down menu, you can set the currency you want > Click Ok.

Hello, setting up the instrument is not the problem.

Suppose I am in a FDAX position (which is denominated in EUR). In the position tab the Pnl is shown as $ and it looks like the conversion from EUR2USD is done.

1. Can you confirm this conversion of other currency pnl to usd?

2. How do I change the main currency to EUR?

The PnL is displayed off your PC regional settings. Change this to display the PnL in the currency you want.

I am on Windows 10 italian version, but whatever I do, change country of residence or change the currency symbol to Eur, I always get the $ as a PNL. For sure it does not convert PNL to YEN.

Where do I set this correclty?

No chance, whatever I do I always get $ as currency in PNL .

I suspect this is a bug in NT8.

In this particular case in the Trade Performance window, the currency used will be the currency of the specific account on which the first execution took place. Am I correct in assuming that you are using an account denominated in USD in this instance? If not, then we may have spotted a bug.

My IB account is a multi currency account. The base currency is set to EUR.

And still, in the Positions tab, when I have a FDAX position open (EUR denominated) I get the pnl in $ which is not what it should be.

Looks like a bug to me...

Got it, thanks. I am unfortunately still not able to reproduce by changing my Sim101 account currency denomination to EUR -- the currency symbol is property updating.

To further test, can you please take a look in your account settings by right clicking the account in the Accounts tab, then clicking "Edit Account"? It is possible that IB's API is not sending currency denomination information, in which case the Denomination field in the "Edit Account" window would still be set to USD. If you find this to be the case, you should be able to manually set it to EUR and test once more.
