Volume Profile not working on Daily bar charts

Hello,

I'm having similar issue with the Volume Profile indicator while using Tick Replay Enabled.

1) Volume Profile does not work for Daily bar charts, without Tick Replay enabled or with Tick Replay enabled.

2) Minute bar charts with Tick Replay Enabled do not display historical data, or any other indicators that are applied to the chart. However Volume Profile does work, but only with Tick Replay Disabled.

The issue is that TDAmeritrade does not provide historical tick data so what you are seeing would be expected with that connection.

I get that for past historical tick data for the indicator using the historical tick data being absent... but the minute bars when Tick Replay disabled are there, yet when Tick Replay is enabled the historical minute bars disappear from the main symbol. Shouldn't the minute bars still be displayed? ...and then the Volume Profile just start recording from that point on?

I'm just trying to use this for the Volume Profile indicator, that's it.


Also, why doesn't Volume Profile work on Daily bars?

Thanks for your reply.

Tick replay requires historical tick data. The datafeed TDAmeritrade does not provide historical tick data. This means you would need to use the Volume Profile indicator in a non tick replay mode which means it will build the profile going forward. Any chart refresh will start the profile from that moment going forward. Volume profile is for intraday sessions.

For Daily bars you may want to use the Volume Zones indicator.
