Simple indicator

Hello,

Just getting started with NJ8, so far it looks good.

I was looking for a simple MACD crossover indicator that will paint the bars green or red pending the crossover direction and would play a sound and give an alert when crossing over.

Does this exist for NJ8? I am not a programmer in any way so any help here would be appreciated.

Hello,

We do not have a pre-built indicator which would accomplish your goal, and it sounds a bit too specific to be included as a pre-built indicator in the future. However, many capable NinjaScript developers browse this forum, and this thread will remain open in case any of them would like to take on the task.

That's all I can ask I guess.

I have the exact alert in Esignal EFS so in order for me to migrate over to Ninja I would need to reproduce this. Is it as easy as coping the code into a new Ninjascript?

Unfortunately not. The two systems are based on completely different programming languages. NinjaScript is based on the C# language, so anything coming over from EFS will need to be re-written from scratch in C# using the NinjaScript libraries.

Is it possible for a standard indicator in NJ8 to give out an alert? i.e. alert when macd crosses over?

Hello Jim,

Yes this is possible in NinjaTrader 8. To accomplish this, you would add the desired indicator(s) to the chart. Then right click on the chart and select "Alerts...". From the Alerts window, click Add. From the window that pops up, click Add under the Conditions section to add your condition. Then click Add under the Actions section to add your visual and/or audio cue.
