    Time zone changes do not offset trading hours

    Only slightly related to data download issues:

    From my standpoint there is a big problem with the trading hours manager: When you change the time zone there should be a way to automatically offset all of the times to reflect the new time zone. For example if changing from Central to Pacific, a quick way to make all of the times two hours later rather than having to edit them.

    Am I missing something? This seemed to happen automatically in NT7.

    I moved your thread as to not to derail the data gap discussions.

    I'm not 100% sure I follow: The Time Zone in the Session Manager in NT7 and the Trading Hours in NT8 just tells the system what time zone those hours are in. There would be no offsetting/modifying the values just by changing the time zone.

    So if you have the default 24/7 session template, and you changed the timezone from Eastern to Central, that just means that it will use 12:00AM Central as opposed to 12:00AM Eastern-> meaning it happens an hour earlier.

    If you want your hours to offset, perhaps you're trying to change the timezone of your charts? This is controlled in NinjaTrader 8 under Tools-> Options and set the Time Zone.

      Time zone problem solved

      Thanks Matthew, that's what I was missing. Changing the time zone of the charts makes it unnecessary to edit the times in the templates.
