Windows 10: Restoring windows to Multiple Desktops on Startup

I would like to report an issue when using Windows 10 multiple desktops:

    1) Open NT8 and create a few different windows

    2) Create an additional windows 10 desktop.

    3) Move a few of the NT8 windows to the other desktop.

    4) Close NT8

    5) Open NT8 -- The problem is that the windows are restored on top of each other to a single desktop.

Since windows 10 desktops are so easy to switch between (Ctrl-Windows-Left/Right), they are very useful to quickly instantly among different views. I believe there is great value in saving and restoring windows to multiple desktops in Windows 10.

I have tried NT 8 on win 10 and any chart windows shows up just the chart portion (not the border) on every single desktop. Annoying and makes desktops unusable. Is this happening for other people? Every beta so far has done it and I pretty much stopped testing on Win 10 as I assumed it was happening for everyone. It appears it isn't based on this post and I would love the restore to different desktops feature as well.

          Hello Treggs,

Thank you for writing in. Could you please attach a screenshot showing this issue so I can further investigate? Can you please also let me know if you are using the smaller (100%) text size in your windows 10 installation or if you are using a larger text size?

You can check this on Microsoft's website here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...er/?v=thttp://

          Thank you in advance.

That bug is part of a larger issue related to Windows 10 reported in NTEIGHT-8584 and is still on our development teams plate to have addressed in the future.

If I open a chart it looks fine as shown below

If I switch desktops the centre remains but all other window elements disappear as expected. This only happens with chart windows in my experience so I suspect it has something to do with how the chart is drawn.

This behaviour has been reproducible across all versions of NT8 beta for me and also occurs on windows 7 using Dexpot for virtual desktop management. I installed a fresh copy of windows 10 and NT8 on my trading machine purely to see if this had been fixed as I need virtual desktops for my workflow.

I am using 100% text size (which is default) in both windows 7 and windows 10 but I can test other sizes if you need? Let me know if you need anything else checked.

I'm happy to report that the issue with chart canvases bleeding through to another virtual desktop is now resolved in our latest internal build, and we hope to push it out with the next Beta release.

Excellent thanks. I will give it a thorough test when beta 6 is released.
