Default drawing objects to All Charts
In NT8, how do I set the default template for certain drawing objects to default to global draw objects? When I draw horizontal lines in NT7 they show up on all charts, but when I draw rays they only show up on that particular chart. How do I emulate this behavior in NT8? I tried saving the Default template for the horizontal line but that is not working.Tags: None

Hello habibalex,
Can you please open the properties menu of the Ray and set 'Attach to' to (All charts).
Click "template" in the lower right corner and then click "save".
A new window will open up to save the template. Please save it as "Default".
Draw a new Ray and it should plot in all charts of the same instrument.JasonNinjaTrader Customer Service

This works on my end. After I save the Ray properties that includes 'Attached to' set to 'All charts' in the Default template, subsequent Rays that I draw have 'Attach to' set to 'All charts'. I am not sure why this does not work for you. Can you please shut down NinjaTrader 8 and navigate to the folder below.
Documents-->NinjaTrader 8-->templates-->DrawingTool-->Ray
Delete the Default.xml file.
Start NinjaTrader 8 and repeat the instructions once more.
I will forward your suggestion to have more space between dashes and dots when such a dash style is selected. Thank you for your feedback.JasonNinjaTrader Customer Service

No, the template itself does not appear to be loading the All Charts property.
This is my default.xml file:

Can you tell me if the Horizontal Line is displayed after using these steps:
1. Open 2 charts
2. Within Chart A draw a Horizontal Line
3. Within the Horizontal Line Properties select (All charts) from the Attach to drop down menu
4. Click Apply, Horizontal Line is displayed in Chart B as well
5. Save the template as default
6. Draw a new Horizontal Line in Chart A
7. Open the Properties window and verify Attach to is showing (All charts) in the drop down
8. Click Ok
After clicking OK is the Horizontal Line then displayed within Chart B as well?Christopher J.NinjaTrader Customer Service
