    Autoscale of text does not work

    Autoscale of text placed on a chart does not seem to work.

    When I manually (or with script) draw text (for instance " - test - ") on a chart. The text doesn't seem to be vertically centered on the price that it should be ((set in the menu that appears upon double-click of the text on the chart)). It seems to display vertically below the y-axis price. Shouldn't it be centered on the price?

    Also, the autoscale function doesn't work.(also turned-on or off in the menu that appears upon double-click of the text on the chart).

    Hello,

    Thank you for posting this.

    I do see a difference between the vertical centering that was in NT7 vs how the current Draw.Text is in NT8.

    I have submitted this item for further review to development.

    I look forward to being of further assistance.

      Maybe the Draw.Text command should have a vertical position selection built into the drop down (when manually drawing text and the Script command syntax of a Script file..

      This vertical position could be as follows:

      Above y-price
      Center on y-price
      Below y-price

      This would be very similar to the Horizontal TextAlignment (Left or Right) for Text.

      The addition of the Vertical Centering capability for text that I am requesting would do a lot to enhance the ability of a script writer to unambiguously mark a line on a chart by what the line represents.

      The impact of this change would have on previously written Script files could be made non-existant by adding a new Draw.Text syntax that includes the vertical position in its definition.

          How is that any different from using the yPixelOffset overload of the current Draw.Text().

            Vertical centering of Text on chart

            Thanks for joining in.
            I am unaware of any text y-pixel offset in the MANUAL template for text.
            Did I miss it?
            I just figured while the developers are there fixing the problem they might like an alternative to only centered in Y-axis.

              You asked about the Draw.Text() command, not about templates. I was asking about the question that you asked, which is all that I can see.

              Changing the question after the response strikes me as strange. On the other hand, maybe it was just I who misunderstood.

                  Yes, it is, because I am an official NT partner. Non-partners cannot even have a signature, because the capability is not enabled for them.

                    Since we have now descended into snarkiness, again, how does that differ from using the yPixelOffset overload of the current Draw.Text() command?

                    Above y-price ==> positive yPixelOffset
                    Center on y-price ==> zero yPixelOffset
                    Below y-price ==> negative yPixelOffset

                        I simply asked you what the difference was, and your response is a personal attack? How very mature.
