Importing Trade Data

Hello

I would like to import historical trade data (live trades that I have taken) from my MT4 account into NT8. That way I could analyze the data with the NT tools. The MT4 trading account is not with a NT compatible broker.

Is it possible to do this? And, is it possible to do so without getting the data mixed up with my data from my live NT account?

Thanks for your post.

You can add executions to the database through the executions tab of the control center. Please see: http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...utions_tab.htm

You would want to enter the external executions on another (SIM) account.

There is no other means to add entries.

NOTE: This response is for Ninjatrader 7. I will update for NinjaTrader 8 shortly.

For Ninjatrader8 you can add executions to the database through New>Trade Performance, select "executions". In the executions you can right mouse click and select "add executions"

Thank you very much for your reply.

I have gone to the executions tab in NT8 and I am not able to find the "Add" option. Attached is a screenshot of what I am looking at.

I have also filtered by accounts in order to see if that makes a difference, but that did not.

Could you please let me know what I am doing wrong here?

Thanks for your reply.

In the NinjaTrader 8 control center select "New" then "Trade Performance". In the Trade Performance window, change the display from Summary to Executions. In the list of executions, right mouse click and select "Add Execution".

Also, is it possible to manually add withdrawals and deposits into the account? I don't see an option for that

You can adjust the sim accounts.

On the NinjaTrader 8 control center, select the "Accounts". On the account to change, right mouse click and select "Edit Account" and change the parameters needed.

Thank you. That doesn't quite do what I need. If I understand correctly, that will adjust the starting balance, etc. But I need to actually log a deposit that was made in the account after it was opened and several trades were placed.

If you are just looking to journal (log) this account change you can add a journal entry in the trade performance. From the control center, select New then Trade Performance. In the Trade Performance window set the date of the account change then in the Display dropdown, select "Journal" and enter. you notes as needed. I am trying to figure out how I can more clearly communicate what I am saying. You are doing a great job. I must not be communicating very clearly.

The account started with $30,000.

Several trades were placed and closed. After a while the account was $31,850.

I deposited $150 to the account.

That deposit is not showing up in the account history. Fair enough...I need to add it manually. No problem.

How do I manually add a deposit in NinjaTrader 8?

I have been answering from the perspective of adding historical trades from another platform. Are you asking about a live account in your NinjaTrader not reflecting the correct amount? I apologize if I have misunderstood (and are still misunderstanding).

Yes, you are right.

Somehow I am getting NT to connect and place trades through an mt4 account. I was told that it shouldn't work - but it seems to be. But, the historical trade data is not being downloaded to NT. Therefore, I am trying to manually enter all of the data into NT. This means that I need to manually enter every trade, every deposit and withdrawal as well as interest credits and debits (forex account).

So, I don't see how I can manually enter the deposits and withdrawals. I see exactly how I can adjust the initial deposit...but not the following ones that occured after the account was opened.

NinjaTrader does not track deposits/withdrawls. Cash value would be displayed in accounts according to the connection/Broker and live license.
