This happens for everyday.

"Feb 19" should be to the left, and "10:30" should be where "Feb 19" is.

My 30 second charts look a lot better, it's nothing as bad as this.

sledge, I have an update in regard to this.

This appears to be very similar in NinjaTrader 7. Let's take ^VIX as an example. When opening a minute chart for this instrument, the date is going to be displayed where the first time would be if the chart's horizontal scale is smaller (larger bars). When the horizontal scaling is bigger (smaller bars), the time is displayed closer to the EOD break line.

This is slightly different inNinjaTrader 8. When opening a chart, the date is going to be displayed where the first time would be regardless of the horizontal scaling.

Another thing to note - this only occurs when there is a EOD session break is in between days. The ES instrument wouldn't show this because it trades throughout the afternoon and to the next day. However, the FDAX would show this because it stops trading during the afternoon and starts the next day. Please let me know if questions come up.

sledge, this is due to the start times of the session templates that you have applied to the ^TRIN and ^VIX charts in NinjaTrader 7. If the start times are well before the actual start of the instrument, then you would see the date below the first bar.

Have you applied different session templates to your ^VIX and ^TRIN charts other than the default? If not, apply the default session template, and reload the historical data. You should see the same.

Nt8 displays it on the 20th bar! Where 10:30 should be. The session break is 20 bars earlier.

My Nt7 image is live and correct. I know where the day started.

Nt8 live is off also. This is with historical reloaded, as you can see the errors mentioned in tick data in the other posts.

sledge, I am able to reproduce this on my end with both NinjaTrader 7 and NinjaTrader 8.

See the attached screenshot. The top two charts have the default session template and trading hours template applied, which both show the dates where the first time would be displayed.

The bottom two charts have the Default 24/7 template applied which the date appears at the first bar.

Likely this has to do with the session template that you have applied in the NinjaTrader 7 chart. Unless, you have applied a different trading hours template to the NinjaTrader 8 charts that doesn't display the time at the first.

Honestly, it's still crap to propagate an issue forward into the new platform.

You all probably re-used the same logic, which is why it's an issue still.

Before that marker is not the previous day!

I'm not sure what the exact differences would be with NinjaTrader versions of 6.5 and 7/8. However, I do know that Session Manger and its templates weren't added until NT7.

I reached out to product development team to revive this feature request. I will add your vote to this feature where it would list the date on the first bar and not where the first time would be.
