But with plot width drawing at 2 although left at 1

    Hi,

Please see the attached image, from a test indicator created using the Ninjascript wizard and assigning static values to the plot.

Both plots are set to the color Black.

The top plot is left at a width of 1, while the bottom is set to 2 in the properties window. They both actually have the same width of 2 (I have also tested this by overlaying them), but the bottom one is darker, as if the default setting of 1 leaves the width at 2 but halves the opacity.

If I leave the bottom plot at a width of 1, it too draws the same width but with reduced darkness.

    Hello palinuro,

    Thank you for your post.

Can you attach your indicator to your response?

You will find the file under Documents\NinjaTrader 8\bin\Custom\Indicators.

Sure, I made a new one just for you.

On my end it's highly repeatable.

What video resolution are you using ?

And your y-axis is in FIXED mode (expanded)?

What does a 3 pixel look like for you?

A 3 width draws correctly. I can also draw a 1-width horizontal line or apply a different indicator with a width of 1 on the chart and it draws correctly.

This occurs on both my monitors, and changing the y axis makes no difference.

            I see the same thing.

Plot widths 3 and 4 look to have about the same issue. Can't really tell them apart actually.

              Hello palinuro (and Sledge)

Thanks for you posts and indicator.

It is clear that the horizontal draw line is thinner at a width of 1 than the plotted line is at a width of 1. It is also clear that the plotted widths of 1 and 2 appear the same size. The horizontal draw line at width 1 is also as dark as the plotted line at width of 2.

We will investigate this further and will update this thread when we have information to report.

                Hello palinuro/Sledge,

We've had a look under the hood and the bottom line is that this (2 px width) is as expected for plots. The reason for this is that plots may not be straight lines and a width of 1 can lead to anti aliasing issues, so for a plot a width of 1 is really 2 as you have observed.

If you like, I can create a feature request to (optionally) turn off the anti-aliasing feature.
