    Add instruments

    Hello,

Which steps should I take to add an instrument in NT 8? If I click to add and then select one instrument, let´s say 6E, I know I have to change the instrument type to futures but the rest of characteristics, should I copy all of them from what I get if I press the edit buttom in the same instrument? Because I got differente valuesin point value, tick size, etc

    Thanks

    Sincerely

    Hello,

    Thank you for the question.

I am not clear on what you are trying to do here, are you trying to make a duplicate of the 6E or another instrument with identical settings? Also I wanted to check, are you referring to Adding an instrument in the Instrument Manager or somewhere else?

Can you provide more detail on what specifically is being done?

I look forward to being of further assistance.

      Hello,

Thanks for your answer. Yes, I would like to add an instrument in the intrument manager so I can open a chart later. In NT 7 was tools instrument manager and then I just selected the instrument, the expiry contract and put it in the default list.

How can I do the same thing in NT8?

      Thanks

      Sincerely

        Hello,

Thank you for the additional details.
This process has changed, you are looking to add a Instrument from the Instrument Manager into a Instrument List. Previously these were both in the same menu, now there is a specific menu just for lists.

Also there is no longer a single "Default" list, all lists in the Instrument List manager will appear in the DropDown menus now.
        • Click Tools -> Instrument Lists
        • Either Select an existing list such as Futures or click the Left Add button to Add a new List.
        • With a List selected, click the Add button on the right of the window. This will open a Instrument box which you can type in the name and contract month.

I look forward to being of further assistance.
