Whenever a text object is put on a daily chart with more than 750 bars and historical data is loaded, CPU and performance get a hit if you attempt to scroll to past data. (try with SP500)

Please repair the database

Please follow the instructions below to repair the NinjaTrader database.

Disconnect NinjaTrader from any open connections via File > Disconnect
From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Database
Press "Repair DB"
Press the "Repair" button
Then review the Performance Tips section of our help guide

What type of computer are you guys using to test?

Most of the performance issues in NT8 can be easily reproduced on laptops, and machines with slightly older graphics cards.

eebene, can you please send us your log and trace files so we can review your current system?

In particular, it is good to know if the rendering is done through the graphics card, or through the CPU. The trace files will provide some insight to this to help understand why you specifically are seeing some performance issues when rendering some objects.

It is known that computers which use software rendering directly will experience some performance issues, and our development team is tracking these reports as we working ongoing performance improvements throughout beta.

Hi Mathew,
In the previous versions, I was experiencing performance issue with cross hair pointer, but no longer in this version, just this text drawing tool issue. These are the step to reproduce. Open a new chart for the spx with 500 day bars, then put a label on that chart, once that is done, change the Time frame end date to 12/1/2004, and see what happen.
