    NT8B10: Ninjatrader as stopped working. Windows will close the program

    Hello,

    I was executing Strategy Analyzer repeatedly, testing various parameters in Optimization mode.

    NT suddenly froze and Windows 10 popped up this dialog.
    NinjaTrader has stopped working.
    A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
    This is the second time today this has happened. I click the close program button and restart, but loose what I was working on.

    I've uploaded a screen print of the dialog with the NT Log.

    Are you able to reproduce this crash when optimizing the SampleMACrossOver script?

    May I test your script on my end?

    If so, please attach an export of your script with your next post and also include the parameter values you are using for your optimization.

    To export a NinjaTrader 8 NinjaScript do the following:
    1. Click Tools -> Export -> NinjaScript...
    2. Click the 'add' link -> check the box(es) for the script(s) you want to include
    3. Click the 'Export' button
    4. Enter a unique name for the file in the value for 'File name:'
    5. Choose a save location -> click Save
    6. Click OK to clear the export location message

    By default your exported file will be in the following location:
    • (My) Documents/NinjaTrader 8/bin/Custom/ExportNinjaScript/<export_file_name.zip>

      Hello ChelseaB,

      I have been trying to reproduce this using SampleMACrossOver but I had no luck. I've also been trying to reproduce it using my own strategy, but no luck.

      I can give you my own observation though.

      Yesterday I got there error while trying to save a template. I had been optimizing and saving different parameter configurations for about 4 hours. During that time I was noticing that it was taking NT longer than usual to open the Save Template dialog window and then save the template xml.

      After I got the error and restarted NT, the time it took to open the Save Template dialog and then save a template was back to normal.

      If it happens again, is there anything in the NT Log that I can send that would help ?

        Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

        You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.

        Please reference both my name and a link to this thread in the body of the email.
