    B11: Gaps in 'Playback' when switching symbols with instrument link

    Hi guys,

    There is a bug with Playback... When clicking between symbols while replaying data it creates gaps in the charts. I tested once when b11 first came out and it seemed to work ok, but I only had one chart in the workspace. Then I tried in another workspace with multiple charts and it got all wonky, so I have re-created a relatively simple third workspaces to replicate issue (attached to this post).

    To replicate:
    1. Download historical tick and minute data for several symbols (I used EURUSD, USDJPY and GBPUSD and I downloaded the last 14 days, although I have replicated with larger data samples also).
    2. Open the workspace (attached)
    3. Connect to Playback
    4. Add your symbols to the MA if you are using different ones to my 3
    5. Start Playback (historical)
    6. Speed up playback
    7. Click between the symbols in the MA (which are instrument linked to the charts), you will see gaps appear as you do so.


    There are no errors in the trace file.

    I bet it does not happen if you pause playback ?

    I wonder if nt7 handled this correctly.

    All threads probably need paused until load competes

      Hi Sledge,

      Just tried pausing from 500x with 4 charts and it seemd (from what i could tell) to work correctly. Just seems to be switching the symbols where the gaps are appearing.

        I was able to replicate what you were experiencing from the steps and workspace you provided.
        I will submit this to our QA team for further analysis and will update you with an ID once this is confirmed as a bug.

            The bug report ID for this is NTEIGHT-9948 - my apologies for not providing it earlier.

            I reached out to our QA team in regards to this bug and the bug is currently being worked on by our developers, however, we're currently unaware if this is going to be resolved with the next update: B12.

                ShaneAU, thank you for writing back.

                It appears that this was able to be debugged and we were unable to reproduce this again. I just tested this today once again and was not able to reproduce.

                Are you able to reproduce this still? If so, please test a new workspace to see if you still experience the same. If you continue to experience the same, please let me know, so that I can test this further.
