Get Market Replay data

Hello NinjaTader, I use NT8.0.0.11 with Kinetick Forex data. When I use in NT8 the menu

historical data /Get market replay data

for some forex instruments, is my question from where the market replay data comes?

Are the market replay data from the same provider like kinetick as I use when I trade live and connected or are the market replay data from a different own NinjaTrader server ?

Thanks, I understand. But which historical data use I when I select the Strategy Analyzer, I did not found any selection for my own historical data from my own data provider?

- Does the strategy analyzer also use the downloaded replay data from
C:\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\replay

or from C:\Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\tick

- Can I use my own tick data for the strategy analyzer when I download from my data provider ask/bid/last in the ninjaTrader *.ncd format?

The Strategy Analyzer does not utilize Market Replay data; instead, it utilizes historical data (this data is contained within the minute, day, and tick folders within (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db).

As long as your tick data is in the proper format for historical data (.ncd file format), you would be able to use it in the Strategy Analyzer.

Ok thanks I understand, but does that mean, when I connected with my data provider like FXCM or Kinetick and I use the strategy analyzer, that the historical data are reading from this data provider and when I offline from my local pc folder Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\tick ?

Hello Christian,

If the historical data already exists for the instrument and time frames you are running the Strategy Analyzer over, the platform will use that already existing data that's stored on your computer and not download it.
