    B11: Unhandled exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

    Hello,

    I was testing an indicator on a chart using 64bit NT8B11. Following a compile, I pressed F5 to refresh the chart and then received about a hundred instances of these exceptions. The exceptions appeared to be in a loop. The only way I could get them to stop was to terminate NT using TaskMgr.

    After I restarted NT, I could not reproduce the error.

      I received the same looping exception again today.

      The steps leading the exception were the same.
      1. Changed the code of an indicator
      2. Compiled indicator
      3. Clicked on the chart to give it focus
      4. Pressed F5 to refresh chart
      5. NT began looping with System.NullReferenceException error on the log..


      The trace file shows the exception occurring at NinjaTrader.NinjaScript.DrawingTools.Ruler GetCursor and it got me thinking.

      On both occasions when I received these exceptions, I was using a local cross hair cursor with the chart. Maybe its related to using cross hair cursor while refreshing chart.

              Hello Cody,
              I have received this error message while doing market replay.

              Here are the steps after it occured:
              1. downloaded data for market replay
              2. created new chart for market replay
              3. connected to playback connection
              4. adding custom strategy
              5. then error occured.

              Strange is that sometimes it is showing up sometimes not.

                Hello. I have also had this error message with B11 64 Bit on Windows 10 Pro. In my case I do not get the looping situation but get a single error on random occasions when I place a SIM order using chart trader. To the best of my knowledge it has only occurred on charts with tick replay enabled. I am unable to reproduce the error but have seen it 3 or 4 times in the last 2 weeks. In my case the error doesn't seem to stop the program from functioning,
