Chart Difference Between NT7 & NT8

I've attached two pictures of NT7 and NT8 screen shots. They're from the same time frame. Please refer to the ruler and price on the side as outlined and highlighted.

NT7 shows 13 pips. NT8 "looks like 1.3 pips" The Y axis is off too. Am I doing something wrong in the settings?

Pretty confusing.

Hello Segwin, and thank you for your report.


In NT7, please visit the NT7 Control Center -> Tools -> Instrument Manager -> Set Name to EURUSD -> Search -> Double-click the EURUSD row.

In NT8, please visit Tools -> Instruments -> Search for EURUSD -> Double-click the EURUSD row.

Please note the tick size for each of these. In NT7, this was 0.0001 (three 0s). In NT8, the tick size is 0.00001 (four 0s).

This is intentional. In NT 7, there was a 'Quote currencies in' option under Tools > Options > Data. in NT 8, this option no longer exists. This is to standardize the data and allow the provider to supply the pip level rather than the user needed to adjust it.

If you are seeking to make these charts consistent, then, I recommend updating your NinjaTrader 7 chart.

Well I guess we can vote to change things I'd like to vote to have the option of making NT8 charts like those in NT7 in my example. Perhaps if the vote to make the 10th pip gets optional this might take care of the problem.

I have submitted a feature request to the product management team for the following feature :


This user would like the "Quote currencies in" operation returned to NT8, or a similar option which would allow NT8 forex instrument data to work out-of-the-box the same way as NT7 data.


I will follow up with more information as soon as it's available. If the feature requests already exists, a vote will be added to it.
