    Vendor Licensing - Minor Bug

This is what happened to me today:

I entered a few customer licenses via the NT8 vendor licensing module. By mistake I copied some of them with a blank in the end. Later in the day I had a few customer complaints that the licenses were not working. Therefore I checked the licenses on a different machine via the NT7 vendor licensing module. All licenses were shown correctly and I told my customers that they were active.

In fact they were not active.

Once I edited them via NT7 I discovered the blank and tried to remove it. This was impossible. I could not remove the flawed licenses with NT7.

    Conclusion:

It is important that NinjaTrader 8 also performs a check for a blank in the end, as does NinjaTrader 7. In this case NinjaTrader 8 should refuse to accept the license in order to prevent that a false license with a blank in the end is entered.

    Hello Harry,

    Thank you for your post.

I will forward your suggestion to development.

I have inadvertently entered pasted licenses with a trailing blank space into the NT7 module and had the license fail too. Since when is there a blank space check in NT7?

At first glance a blank space check seems simple to add. I'll look to get it done and come back if there is a complication.

I discussed blank space stripping with development and ended up adding it to our SFT with ID: 1541. Reason is that in principle we don't do any input white space stripping in the application and we preferred to not 'quick' fix a single case but instead apply it consistently throughout the application which is something we'll review if we should be doing that once out of beta.

          Thanks for bringing it up.
