Please can we have a customizable refresh rate for charts as in NT7?

    Hello,

in NT7 we could change the refresh rate on charts/etc. eg. from 0.2 to 0.1 or lower. which gave us a lot more updates per sec visualized.

In NT8 it looks we are going back and there it is set to a fixed 0.25 value. So regardless of fast price fluctuations you wont get more than 4 updates per sec. This feels really old and I am totally used to the other trading platforms, where prices often changes 20+ times within a second without any problems visualizing this. It just feels much more unfiltered than here.

I understand that there maybe a performance issue for some, but still its so sad, that NT8 has so much advantages to the old version, but lacks such a very important feature from the old one.

    Thanks for listening,
    Oliver

    Hello Oliver,

    Thanks for your post.

We will create a feature request to allow the refresh, per chart, to be adjusted as in NT7. If this feature request already exists, a vote will be added to it. We will update this thread when a feature request number has been assigned.

    Thank-you for your suggestion.

I add a second vote here. I trade on a 1 tick chart and with things like CL and GC I get chart updates where a bunch of ticks passed.

I understand NT8 is event driven and thus won't update if there is no price change but as the original poster mentions there seems to be a threshold where the chart won't update more than x times per second.

I haven't tried this yet but is it possible to hack this by editing a workspace xml file and add something like:

        Code:
        <RefreshSeconds>0.1</RefreshSeconds>
In the appropriate place. Does NT8 look for this and can we have a temporary solution?

On a side note, I don't use nor condone the use of MetaTrader 4/5 but such a garbage platform makes NT look sluggish when watching the chart update side by side.

            Hello fxRichard,

            Thanks for your posts.

We will add your vote to SFT - 1536.

I am not aware of a workaround to change the NT8 chart refresh rate nor any temporary solution.

Absolutely... and even more when you are coming from a Forex trading platform, where prices often change really fast and this is immeadently visualized... so this ~4 times per second looks really really slow and lagging behind in todays computer systems. It would be really great to get a configurable parameter to get around this hard cap...
