new user chart
I decided to give ninja a try and am using a demo account. I am wondering how to fix my vertical scale. (image attached) That last bar is more than a five minute bar as well. I played around with it quite a bit and couldn't find anything useful of the forum already. Has to be a newbie errorTags: None

Hi dedouglas,
The issue is with the expiry and merge policy.
The current trading contract month for the symbol CL is the 09-16. The 10-16 is simultaneously trading as well, however, the merge policy is loading historical data for the current contract month (09-16) due the rollover dates and then real-time data is streamed from the 10-16 causing the discrepancy in price to form on the screen as real-time data is being received.
The CL is set to rollover in NinjaTrader to the 10-16 on August 18th, 2016.
To correct this, you can set the merge policy to DoNotMerge, either for this instrument or globally for all instruments or alternatively edit the rollover date for the next contract month to today's date.
This causes only the 10-16 historical data and real-time to appear on the chart. This also means if you load more data than the 10-16 has, the chart will not continuously scroll back indefinitely merging contracts months by the rollover date.
To change the merge policy globally for all instruments:- Click Tools -> Options... -> Market data (in NinjaTrader 7 click Data)
- Set the Merge policy to DoNotMerge - > click OK
- Click Tools -> Instruments (in NinjaTrader 7 click Instrument Manager)
- Search for the CL and select the search result row -> click the Edit button
- Set the Merge policy to DoNotMerge -> click OK -> click OK
- Click Tools -> Instruments (in NinjaTrader 7 click Instrument Manager)
- Search for the CL and select the search result row -> click the Edit button
- Scroll to the bottom and click in the value for Contract months (In NinjaTrader 7 select the Misc tab and scroll to the bottom)
- In the Contract months window find the next contract month -> set the Rollover date to today's date -> click OK -> click OK
Then reload the historical data by right-clicking the chart -> select Reload All Historical Data.

This NinjaTrader 8 Rollover Indications indicator also provides a visual reminder on the chart to change the merge policy when viewing contract months before the roll date.
Shows a button on the chart to roll the expiry to the next available contract month. Option to hide button until a number of days before or on roll date. Another option to confirm by opening the instrument overlay selector or automatically rollover without confirmation. (Update June 27th, 2019 – Added an option to show […]
