Flashing Issue with NinjaScript Editor + Quicker Import Suggestion

    Hi,

Congratulations on the first release candidate. It's an important milestone for all of us.

I want to provide some reports for the development:

    1. An Issue
I have noticed this issue since v12, not sure if anyone else has reported it or not.

When NinjaScript editor is open, if we go to a chart or Control Center and bring up any dialog (e.g. Data series, Chart properties, Indicator settings, Import, Export...), the NinjaScript editor window in the back will now show up to the front. This flashing issue is very annoying.

My current solution is to minimize NinjaScript editor, or close it (of course ).

    2. A Suggestion
Currently after a user imports an indicator, the Import window closes and he has to go through several boring clicks to re-open the Import window for importing the next indicator. If there are many indicators to import, this will be a very time-consuming procedure. Can you keep the Import window stay open until it is manually closed by a user (just like the Export window)? That will save tons of time.

    Thanks,
    Pi

I was unable to reproduce this on my end.

What version of Windows are you using?

Can you right-click on the margin of your NinjaScript Editor window and ensure "Always on top" is not enabled?

This is a great suggestion. I will forward it to the Development Team.

      Hi Patrick,

No we don't have "Always on top" for NinjaScript editor.
We had that issue with v12 on 3 computers, one uses Windows 10 and two use Windows 7.

In v13, it seems that the issue occurs more randomly. I will record a video to show you the issue when I encounter it again.

Regarding the suggestion for importing, I just think it will be even 10x better if people can select multiple indicators and import all of them at the same time with a single click. What an improvement! Hope you can forward this "enhanced" idea to development team as well .

      Thanks,
      Pi

The flashing issue happens again today. I recorded a video for you.
        Please watch it at https://www.dropbox.com/s/le7xl0oh08...issue.mp4?dl=0

Are you using multiple (virtual) desktops on the Windows 10 machine? If so, please disable any multiple desktops to test.

As a test, please rename your UI file.
          • Shut down NinjaTrader
          • Navigate to Documents > NinjaTrader 8
          • Rename "UI.xml" to "OLD_UI.xml"
          • Restart NinjaTrader and test

No, I don't have virtual desktops. The video I recorded was on a Windows 7 computer with 2 screens.
Today the issue is not showing. It occurs kind of randomly, and I cannot anticipate when it occurs.

I think that's the necessary condition.

I always have to minimize NinjaScript editor to prevent the flashing effect.
