    NT8 RC1 - Vendor Licensing and other Add-On menus disappeared

    Hi,

    I imported the Vendor Licensing official Add-On to the new RC1 version, but the menu under the Tools disappeared.

    I have other custom add-ons with the same issue. If I change menu location from "Tools" to "New" (Control Center), it works. Please advise.

    Thank you for the inquiry.

    Our product management had released a patch shortly after the initial release of RC1, you may still have the initial release which is missing the Tools menu item for the Vendor items.

    You would just need to re download the installer, then complete an uninstall/reinstall.

    You may also need to complete a compile following these steps in the case your actual addons are not being shown.

        Hello Jesse,

        I installed the new patch, the Vendor Licensing Addon under Tools menu was fixed, but other addons still have issues, even your Sample Addon exported to dll is blank after installation.

        Same issue on our side, i tried to compile other addons as well, but the problem is the same. Blank Window.

        It is very very important to fix this or find a solution asap, since many live licensed collective2 users use our NT8 bridge and now the new RC1 crashed the addon...

        I made a short video with TeamViewer about process, please help me where can I send, attach it in order to be reviewed.

          Hello Lorant,

          Our QA has tested an addon with Agile.NET protection added using RC1 and found the addon to be working normally.

          Below is a link to a video of this test.
          Free online storage and sharing with Screencast.com. 2 GB of storage and 2 GB of bandwidth per month for free. We won't compress, alter or take ownership of your content.


          Please try creating a clean NinjaTrader settings folder and then try importing this protected version of the script attached.

          To create a development NinjaTrader folder:
          1. Shutdown NinjaTrader
          2. Rename (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\ to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8.original\
          3. Download the NinjaTrader installation package from the link below
            http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
          4. Run the repair from this (if the repair is unsuccessful, uninstall and then re-install NinjaTrader)

          This will recreate the NinjaTrader 8 folder in (My) Documents.
          Once a new Documents folder has been created, please download the exported version of this addon (created in the video) and import this (Tools -> Import -> NinjaScript) and test for the behavior.

          To switch back to your original environment:
          1. Shutdown NinjaTrader
          2. Rename (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\ to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8.development\
          3. Rename (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8.original\ to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\
          4. Start NinjaTrader


          If you are able to reproduce the behavior, please let me know so that we may schedule a call for me to further investigate on your end.

          Please let me know if you would like assistance with this.

            Please review my video and let me know if I did something wrong...
            If not, lets try to find the bug, you can login my laptop using TV... install source code and try to debug using Visual Studio or else...

              Hello varilorant,

              Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to an email send to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com so I may investigate this matter further.
              • Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents
              • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
              • Send the two compressed folders as attachments to this email
              • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders


              Please send your log and trace files to platformsupport [at] ninjatrader [dot] com as these will contain sensitive information. In the email, please include a link to this forum thread.

                  Hello,

                  The export in post #5 is incomplete and is missing the xaml resource that needs to go with it.

                  Attached is an updated version that includes the Addon subfolder and AddonShellTabContent.xaml file need to load within the page in the Addon window.

                  At this time xaml files must be manually added to an export (but will import).
                  Resources such as images, sounds, txt files, etc cannot be imported or exported.

                  There is a feature request to 'Allow the import/export of xaml files, images, sounds, and other resources along with NS files'. This feature request is being tracked with ID# SFT-968.
                  I will be adding your vote toward this.
