    NinjaTrader 8.0.0.13 RC 1 - StackOverFlowException

    Hi,

    I cannot load my old charts nor can I load anything after removing workspaces.

    The exception is the same - stackoverflow exception.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1) Start NT 8
    2) Connect to live streaming data (Kinetick)
    3) Create a new chart - GC daily, no indicators
    4) Scroll the chart

      Hello mmeniger, and thank you for your report. To put your system in a more predictable state, I would like to ask if you could follow these steps to reset your database and clean out your cache.



      • Shut down NinjaTrader 8
      • Delete the contents of your (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\cache folder
      • Copy your (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\NinjaTrader.sdf file to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\NinjaTrader.24AUG16.sdf
      • Restart NinjaTrader
      • Ensure you remain disconnected
      • Tools -> Database
      • Reset DB
      • Check both Historical Orders and Historical Executions
      • Reset
      • Yes
      • OK
      • Update Instruments
      • Check General Properties, Future Expiries, and Symbol Mappings
      • Update
      • Restart NinjaTrader 8

      Once you have done so, if you continue observing this behavior, please send me your log and trace files, templates, and other files, so that I may look into what occurred.
      You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.
      Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 1568282

      IMPORTANT: Please also tick all the boxes in the "Other Files" section.

        Hi Jessica -

        I appreciate your response.
        However, I am going to try to get B12 working again. RC1 - IMO - is of really poor quality based on my use of it and the posts in the forum.

        I love the new functionality in NT 8 and the intention is great.
        However, the implementation clearly needs work as does the quality.

        I really hope you guys can get it there. I would hate to have to move to another platform.

          I understand you would like to use the previous Beta, Version 12, which can be downloaded here.



          Before you do, and so we can see exactly what occurred on your system so we can prevent the same thing from occurring for other users, could I ask for you to follow just these steps?

          Please send me your log and trace files, templates, and other files, so that I may look into what occurred.
          You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support.
          Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 1568282

          IMPORTANT: Please also tick all the boxes in the "Other Files" section.
          We appreciate this information.

          Once you have done so, you will need to delete or rename your (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\NinjaTrader.sdf file to install Beta 12. Here is a direct link to Beta 12.
