I found a problem with exported Excel file.
Reproduce steps:
- run backtest
- open Trades
- right mouse click and Export into Excel file (*.xlsx)
- some columns of the Excel file are not valid, because excel cannot operate on values of these columns.
Invalid columns are:
- Entry price
- Exit price
- All currency columns
Description of the problem:
'Currency' and 'price' columns are not formattable. Excel does not recognize them as valid values (something that can sort/edordered), so for example no Conditional formatting can be applied.
Same problem applies for Entry/Exit price columns.
I had to explicitly convert them Entry price column to numbers,
otherwise the Conditional formatting cannot be applied too.
Why this is problem:
Exported excel files are not usable for following analysis in Excel.. We cannot execute most common operations, visualizations formatting and so on. To make it work with Excel, we have to first fix (rewrite) problematic columns and then continue with analysis.
This manual fixing should be avoided and expected behavior is, that excel columns should be recognized by Excel (formattable and usable for common operations)... exactly like it worked with NT7, where exported Excel and could do any analysis on it.
But this is not the case with NT8 exported Excel files.
Example excel file exported from NT8 attached in zip.
