NT8 more questions

Questions re: NT 8:
1) Are people traders trading on it yet, or is this beta version not "live"?
2) Repeat question from the last time: What IS the difference between "Instruments" and "Instrument Lists"? When do you use one vs the other? Are there instructional videos on these two?
3) See attachment. When I open "Instruments", select an instrument, click "add" and then "OK", I get the error message that says something about a "master instrument field". What on earth is this? Is this not how you add an instrument to your list so you create charts and trade it?

1) Yes, people have been using it for quite a while.
2) You answered your own question. Instrument is an Instrument (eg EURUSD, BHP or CL) and an Instrument List is a created list of instruments like a favorites list.
3) Not quite sure, are you connected to a data provider and only trying to access something they provide data for? Go to control center and New->Chart then type say EURUSD in the top left press enter once then choose a timeframe and click OK.

NinjaTrader 8 is still in beta and yes there are people using it live.

|||Rokz||| is correct, thank you |||Rokz|||. Instrument lists are for adding instruments to lists while instruments you can use to modify or add a new instrument.

When you are clicking add under instruments, you are not adding that instrument to a list but rather creating a new instrument for which you have to define, which is why you are seeing that error.. For example, if you wanted to add a foreign stock that trades on a overseas exchange. To add an instrument to your instrument list you’ll use Instrument Lists, select the list, then click add and search the symbol you’d like to add.
