    Crashing without any warning / logs / traces

    Hi,

    as I am developing for NT8, it happens several time a day, that
    NT8 crashes immediately without any warning.

    It crashes in a immediately, no error dialog, nothing in trace / log files. No traces can be found about type of problem. I don't see any pattern how it happens, it looks to me completely randomly.

    I can confirm, that this does not happen only on my PC, but the same immediate crashing happens also when installed on completely new machine on Cloud.
    I want to say, this crashing is not something, that is happens just my specific environment.

    Sometimes NT8 runs several hours without any problem, sometimes it crashes after 2 minutes. Really, cannot see pattern here.

    I just wanted to let you know, that there is still some significant instability under the hood of NT8. I would be happy to provide you with some hints, symptoms or possible causes, but it happens so randomly (from my view of point), that I don't see any right now.

    The biggest problem is, that there are no traces left - no error dialog, no logs.

    Suggestion:
    It would be very useful to create some pro-active logging component, during the whole beta development, that would measure CPU, memory and all NT8 little small activities , so we can find the problem or at least find some traces of calls and situation before the crash.

        As a help, when locating issues:
        • one of the crashes definetely happened today 2016-10-17 between 20:00 - 23:00
        • It happened while CQG free demo datafeed was connected. (I don't want to say, this is the reason)

          I have the same problem, no warning at all. Mine won't even stay up for two minutes. No way I'm trading live on this thing!!

            Yes, that's true.
            I can also confirm a few cases, when NT8 crashed so soon (in a few first 1 - 5 minutes).

            The same way = no error dialogs, nothing in log/traces.
            Only WIndows 10 reported some small dialog, application crashed and in 5 seconds NT8 is lost from the screen.

              Certainly not ready for live trading. I'll wait until they get their act together, which I think will take some real time.

                Does the problem exist in market replay for you?
                That could at least narrow it down a little and remove CQG from the equation.

                  No. It crashes after my data connection is started which is contiuum. Yesterday it crashed right after the futures open and never was able to stay up more than two minutes after that. I tried 15 times and finally gave up.

                        do you mean NT freezes or does the whole NT crash.

                          The whole thing crashes. Support had me reset the data base. Seems to work for now. Still cautious about nt8.
