Daily chart has extra bar appearing - crashing RC1

    Hi there,

I'm still using RC1 as I've had little confidence with RC2 at this point.

A couple of times I've had a daily chart, clean, no indicators causing NT8 to crash.

The issue only arrives when I see an extra bar is plotted, near identical to the current bar values, and only when I connect to a real-time feed. (Please see attachment).

It usually appears on the Monday/Tuesday possibly when I have used the Kinetic EOD feed over the weekend.

I use Eastern Time on my PC so there should not be a time issue.

I'm using Rithmic with NT server historical data when connecting to real-time.

I cannot find any info within the Trace or Log files that would help.

    Thank you.

Hello Sim22, and thank you for your report.

Since you mentioned no useful log information being available, I would like to put your machine in a more predictable state with the instructions below.
    • Shut down NinjaTrader 8
    • Delete the contents of your (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\cache folder
    • Copy your (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\NinjaTrader.sdf file to (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 8\db\NinjaTrader.DDMMMYY.sdf
    • Restart NinjaTrader
    • Ensure you remain disconnected
    • Tools -> Database
    • Reset DB
    • Check both Historical Orders and Historical Executions
    • Reset
    • Yes
    • OK
    • Update Instruments
    • Check General Properties, Future Expiries, and Symbol Mappings
    • Update
    • Restart NinjaTrader 8

Please let us know one way or the other whether this prevents the final bars from forming.

      Thank you Jessica.

I will post my findings going forward.

      Just one more thing.......

I use a lot of TickReplay and I've found I get better plotting when I've deleted my cache before NT start up. Is there a way I can do this through Ninjascript when State.Terminated is called?

      Thanks again.

While this is not directly supported through documentation, I believe (I have not tested this on my end) if we would like guarantees that your cache data is no longer being used, you will need to access these files later on in the shutdown process than the lifespan of your charts (and thus your indicators). I would recommend as a starting point creating an add on which does this instead. Add ons are documented here, http://ninjatrader.com/support/helpG...-us/add_on.htm

I interpret that as: It should only run when all objects reading/writing data to the cache have finished doing so and the cache is no longer needed.

Seems like a headache...... so for now I will manually do it

          Thanks again for the info.
