For some people V2_12 may be corrupted when trying to import. The source code is okay, but import fails for some reason.

Make sure you download version 2_13 or later!

Buttons don't appear

I'm trying to get this wonderful tool to work. Imported version 13 and added to chart. Add 2 workspace names.

Problem is the "tab form" with the buttons does not seem to appear anywhere. Any ideas what I might need to do?

coolmoss: I should see your settings menu/screenshot of your chart for a sure answer. (you can upload them to my site with a comment)

By default it should appear on the upper-left corner of your chart.
-Try to attach it to a new chart first and see if problem still exists.
-Try to set variable "x instead of name" to true and see if tab comes up.

What OS, and NT version do you use?

Hi,

I use XP and NT 7.0.1000.9. You can see my settings below. I don't think they look complete compared to other posts I've seen on this indicator. I don't see where to make the change you suggest. I did import v13 and try a new chart. No problems show in log, no other issues, just no workspace window coming up. Thanks for your help.

So there is something missing for you. NT version seems okay.
What is your .NET version? (check it in your XP: control panel -> programs and features)

I currently have 1.1, 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2, 3.5 SP1 and 4 installed. I thought that covered it, maybe not?

.Net seems okay then. I only tested the tool on win7, which includes later .Net, so I still think the problem lies somewhere there. It is very strange that most options don't show up for you. And seemingly the default values or some code don't work either.

Could you please send your email address in a PM, and I could look into this deeper by sending you some versions and see if we can make it work?
(I won't be around until January though)

It is now confirmed: Win XP and/or some/all versions of .NET cause color properties not loading correctly thus stopping the indicator from functioning.

Ask for a version without these properties if you have the same problem as coolmoss had.

Did you test the switcher on Windows 8 ?

Yes, Vista and up it works great. It is XP and before where .NET wasn't included.

New HT user

I'm probably missing the obvious! I downloaded the Switcher Indicator, setup two Workspaces named Scan and MTP, then I created a chart with the Indicator on it in MTP and added Scan to Workspace1 and MTP to Workspace2. I added a chart to Scan and added the same names to Workspace1 and 2. This added two buttons one with Scan another with MTP. When I click on the Scan button or the MTP, nothing happens.

I'm sure I am missing the obvious!

My understanding was that the indicator would switch between the two Workspaces by clicking on the Button, but that isn't happening.

What am I missing?

dltodd: yes, this is the basic idea. And it should work.
I'd be happy to assist you if you couldn't make it work so far, I just need some details.

What OP do you use?
What version of NT do you use?
Could you send me a screenshot of your indicator settings window?
