    small dots with plot

Guys, could someone explain why NT's plot pixels are so huge? When using PlotStyle.Dot, a "1 px" dot displays as a square (implying the pixels are squares). But these "pixels" are much larger than the true pixels on my screen, and larger than Ninja's own "1 pixel" line. On my charts, I can fit three Ninja cross-hair lines in a Ninja-plotted "1 px" dot, which wouldn't be possible if this were really the smallest screen element, or if Ninja's plot pixels were the same size as their line pixels. Instead, a "1 px" Ninja-plotted dot appears to be made up of at least 9 period-size dots arranged in a square. Perhaps this is for a good reason, but it significantly reduces the value of PlotStyle.Dot. Dots above 2 pixels are large, and dots below 2 pixels are squares, hence Ninja really doesn't have a small dot.

Am I missing something about this? If not, will this improve in NT7?

    Thanks again for your help.

Light, have you already tried for example using a width of 0.1?

use line type and change solid to dot, you'll get very fine dots

Thanks Bertrand and Mike. Both of your suggestions worked reasonably well. Mike, your idea produced truly round small dots -- very nice. I wish I could get those for PlotStyle.Dot. Using PlotStyle.Line, I don't see how to get just one per bar.

Bertrand, your approach produces one small squarish dot only on bars where the plot has values, which is a requirement in my case. I'll use small squarish dots of pixel size < 1. Still, it would nice if dots below 2 pixels were actually round.

Thanks again for your help guys! Much appreciated...

        Best wishes,

P.S. Perhaps the problem relates to "Pen" being the underlying plot drawing method. Which leads to another question -- will pixel sizes < 1 be supported in NT7? I read where the minimum Pen size in NT7 will be 1. It sounds like that could eliminate dots below 1 pixel.

Not sure I follow Light, I could use a dot with pixel < 1 without issues in NT7.

Thanks for checking, Bertrand. I'm glad the option won't change.

I was referring to this quote on p.2 of the "NinjaScript Code-Breaking Changes for NinjaTrader 7" pdf file:

"Pen objects now have a minimum width of 1"

But apparently the two are unrelated. No worries...

            Thanks again for your help,
