    Reading Excel Data

I have searched for this on the forum but have not found it answered-if it has been-I apologize--

I want to import (read) native Excel data (meaning data in Excel files stored as .xls files)--not CSV,text or anything other than true Excel files.

Has someone already done this ?

    Hello Jim-Boulder,

Unfortunately this is not supported but perhaps you can receive input from our community members who have tried something similar.

The only import formats for historical data are text and MetaStock that was introduced in version 7.

Thanks--for clarity--I am wanting to read a file that contains Support and Resistance numbers (not historical data per se)--and was assuming the solution would be similar to using StreamReader--but instead of TXT files-I want to read ".xls" files directly...

Unfortunately this is not supported by us. You can try googling how to read from Excel files in C#, but this is outside the scope of what we can provide guidance for. Thank you for understanding.

OK-Understood-I can resort to using CSV files-but was hoping someone may have done this already
