    partil fill

    HI NT experts,

Will NT internal logic automatically cancel a partially filled entry order if the position of the partially filled order is closed with a market order?

    Regards,

    Hello binwang2,

It depends here on where the order is submitted. If it happened outside the strategy environment there is no way for the strategy to know status of this fill.

If market order is submitted by the strategy, there will be notification of the actual fill quantity received.

Do i need to cancel the entry order manually, assuming the filled portion is closed?

        Hello binwang,

I'm not sure. Could you clarify the scenario you're intersted in?

        What is submitting orders?
        What is the result?
        What outcome do you want?

Suppose my entry order is to long 10K USDJPY. 2K is filled, leaving entry order live for remaining 8K to be filled. However, market takes off.
Then I exit the 2K USDJPY position with market order. Will the entry order wating to be filled automatically get cancelled by some NT internal logic?

If you submit the market order manually, there is no way for the strategy to know this. The strategy only acts in accordance with information related to the strategy and its fills.

Yes, there is NT internal logic that will cancel the outstanding entry order when an exit statement is used.
