    Detect symbol type

    Hi,

    Is it possible to detect what type of symbol I'm working with i.e. whether it is a stock, future, index, FX etc?

    I want to write some generic code that says 'if this chart is a stock then do this, else if the chart if a future do this etc'

    Thanks

    Hello bubblegum,

    Yes, this is possible with instrument type property.

    Code:

    if (Instrument.MasterInstrument.InstrumentType == InstrumentType.Future)
    Print(Instrument.MasterInstrument.InstrumentType.ToString());
