    Startup vs ongoing calculations

    Hi,

    I'm trying to solve some calculations for prior swing highs/lows when my script loads up. When it initially loads up I need to perform the calculation for the previous 5 highs/lows. But on an ongoing basis I need to only maintain the current pivot. Is there a way to achieve that efficiently as right now I think I'm running this loop every time 5 times.

    thanks in advance for your help

    Hello,
    Thanks for the forum post.
    You could have different calculations for if the strategy is running in historical or running live. This would be advanced programming though. In most cases this is not needed unless you’re running into some performance issues with your current calculations.
    For example, you could using
    if(Historical)
    {
    //Do your historical calcs
    }
    If(!Historical)
    {
    //Do our live calcs
    }

    Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
